5 Tips to a Great Brand Photo Session

Why You Need a Branding Photographer for Your Business. Brand Photography is a great way to create a more personal connection with your audience. It’s an opportunity to showcase the human side of your company and let people know that there are real people behind your brand.

Branding photography sessions are all about creating a genuine connection with your customer and giving them an experience they haven’t had before. If you want to be able to do this, there are some things you can do before, during and after the session that will help make it a success.

5 tips for brand photography in Dallas:

Plan everything.

Be sure to book your brand photography session with enough time before the event. This will ensure that you are not rushed and can get the best images possible.

Be clear on what you want to get out of the brand photography session. If you are having a large team involved in the photo shoot, make sure they know what they should be doing during our time together so we don't waste any precious minutes trying to get them all on board with ideas!

This is the most important step, and it’s where most people fail. You need to know why you’re having a brand photography session. Are you looking for new headshots? Do you want to update your social media graphics? Do you need images for your website or promotional materials?

Location, location, location. Think outside the box (er, studio).

Make sure that you have a great location in mind for your photo shoot; we can help recommend locations based on what type of look you are going for and what your brand represents! The studio we use is located in Frisco and has beautiful setup stations for any feel.

The Right Wardrobe

Wear your brand colors and/or your logo. You want to make sure your photos are cohesive to your brand identity and consistent on your site. When it comes to clothing, just remember that less is more! You don't want anything too busy or flashy because this will distract from your face and body shape. The clothes make the man (or woman), so choose wisely! If they’re too tight or too loose, they won’t look good in photos and could even distract from your face. We recommend bringing outfits that show off who you are as an individual and what inspires you because those elements will translate into beautiful images!

Come to your session camera ready.

Be sure that your hair and make up is done before showing up to the session, unless you hire a makeup artist to do your face on location. If you do not have a makeup artist that you typically use, I recommend local Dallas makeup artist Allure Faces by Nikki. She is the best makeup artist in Dallas. I use her for my clients and they lover her.

Be yourself. Don't be afraid to get a little silly.

The most important thing is to have fun! If you are not having a good time, the images will not come out great. Another thing is to make sure that you are comfortable in front of the camera. A lot of people don't realize that having their picture taken can be nerve-wracking because they are not used to being in front of the lens. So, if you are not comfortable, just remember that it's okay to smile and laugh - just don't laugh at yourself!

Don’t be afraid to ask questions! You don’t have to have everything figured out before you book a session (because we all know things happen). But if there is something you want included in the session or want us to discuss with you beforehand, just ask!
